As a mechanical engineer at Qafka Robotics, your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the design, development, testing and maintenance of the mechanical systems that form the backbone of our robotic technologies. Working together in an interdisciplinary team you will play a crucial role in ensuring the mechanical integrity and functionality of our robotic systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and Development of Mechanical Systems: Create innovative and effective mechanical designs for various robotic components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. Collaborate with other engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into the overall robot design.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate the mechanical systems’ performance, durability and efficiency. Analyze test results, identify areas for improvement and iterate on designs accordingly.
- Materials Selection and Analysis: Choose appropriate materials for different mechanical components, considering factors such as strength, weight and cost. Conduct structural analyses and simulations to ensure the integrity of mechanical designs under various conditions.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Implement preventive maintenance procedures to increase the lifespan and reliability of mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and address mechanical issues that may arise during testing, deployment or operation.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Passion for the field of robotics or automation.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with motion control systems, sensors, actuators and mechatronics is a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection for robotic applications.
